Albino Glowlight Tetra Care Guide

The Albino Glowlight Tetra is a pale, selectively bred color morph of Hemigrammus erythrozonus, retaining the species’ distinctive glowing orange-red stripe along the body. Its translucent cream to pinkish body and red eyes give it a striking appearance, while the luminous stripe stands out especially well against darker surroundings.Small, peaceful and active, these tetras are most impressive when moving together in a group. They are generally calm community fish, though their coordinated swimming and occasional displays give the shoal a lively, constantly shifting character.The species originates in the Essequibo River basin of Guyana, where it inhabits slow-moving forest streams, tributaries and quiet waters influenced by fallen leaves and submerged vegetation. These habitats are typically shaded, gently flowing and rich in natural cover.Although the albino form is a modern aquarium variety rather than a separate wild species, it shares the same basic body shape and behaviour as the naturally colored Glowlight Tetra.
