Diet
Bamboo Shrimp primarily feed on microscopic organisms and organic matter in the water column. They use their fan-like appendages to filter small particles from the water. Providing a well-established aquarium with plenty of biofilm, algae, and detritus is essential. They can also be supplemented with powdered or liquid invertebrate foods.
Community Compatibility
Bamboo Shrimp are peaceful and can coexist with other peaceful community fish that won't harass or eat them. They should not be kept with aggressive or fin-nipping fish. Suitable tank mates include small to medium-sized fish like tetras, rasboras, gouramis, and peaceful bottom-dwelling species like corydoras catfish. Avoid keeping them with large or aggressive cichlids or predatory fish.
Gender Differences
Males are generally smaller and slimmer, while females are larger and may have a rounder abdomen when carrying eggs.
