Diet
Omnivorous; thrives on a varied diet including high-quality sinking pellets, flake foods, and live or frozen foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia. They are bottom feeders and will also help clean up leftover food from the substrate.
Community Compatibility
Ideal for community tanks with other peaceful fish. Their calm nature makes them compatible with a wide variety of tank mates, including small tetras, rasboras, and dwarf cichlids. Avoid large or aggressive species that may intimidate or harm them.
Good to Know
The Blue Corydoras is named after Johann Natterer, a noted Austrian naturalist. Despite the common name "Blue Corydoras," their coloring is more of a subtle blue sheen rather than a bright blue color, which can be more or less pronounced depending on the lighting and water conditions.
Gender Differences
Females are generally larger and have a rounder body shape compared to males, especially when viewed from above. This is more noticeable when the fish are fully mature and during spawning periods.
