Diet
Omnivorous; thrives on a varied diet that includes high-quality flake foods, small pellets, and live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp, daphnia, and bloodworms. Vegetable matter in the form of blanched spinach or zucchini can also be offered to ensure a balanced diet.
Community Compatibility
Ideal for community tanks with other peaceful, similarly sized fish. Their calm nature makes them compatible with a variety of tank mates, including small tetras, rasboras, and dwarf cichlids. Avoid large or aggressive species that may intimidate or prey on them.
Good to Know
The Boomerang Barb is known for its striking coloration and peaceful demeanor, making it a popular choice among aquarists looking to add a splash of color and activity to their freshwater aquariums. They are named after Wolfgang Foersch, a notable figure in the aquarium trade, who first collected the species.
Gender Differences
