Diet
Carnivorous; requires a diet of live or frozen foods such as fish, shrimp, worms, and insects. May accept high-quality pellet foods designed for carnivorous species once acclimated.
Community Compatibility
Not suitable for a general community tank due to its predatory nature and aggression towards other fish, especially smaller species. Best kept in a species-specific tank or with very carefully chosen, similarly sized and tempered tank mates.
Good to Know
The Burmese Spotted Snakehead is admired for its striking appearance, featuring vibrant colors and ornate fin patterns. Like other snakeheads, it is capable of breathing air due to a specialized organ, allowing it to survive in low-oxygen environments.
Gender Differences
Males may display more vibrant colors and have a more elongated body shape than females, but these differences can be subtle.
