Diet
Carnivorous; prefers a diet of meaty foods such as brine shrimp, bloodworms, and small fish. High-quality cichlid pellets and flakes can also be included for a balanced diet.
Community Compatibility
Can be suitable for a Tanganyikan biotope community tank with other species that prefer similar water conditions and are not overly aggressive. Ideal tank mates include other Tanganyikan cichlids that occupy different niches within the tank to minimize competition.
Good to Know
The Calvus Cichlid is known for its unique body shape, with a laterally compressed body and a high dorsal fin, making it one of the most distinctive and sought-after cichlids from Lake Tanganyika.
