Diet
Omnivorous, with a preference for small live or frozen foods such as daphnia, micro worms, and brine shrimp nauplii. They will also accept very fine flake foods and micro pellets designed for small fish.
Community Compatibility
Ideal for nano or planted community tanks with other small, peaceful species. Due to their tiny size and timid nature, they should not be kept with large or aggressive fish. Suitable tank mates include other small rasboras, tetras, and dwarf shrimp.
Good to Know
The Chilli Rasbora is highly sought after in the aquarium trade for its vibrant red color and small size, making it a perfect inhabitant for nano tanks and heavily planted aquariums where it can display its natural schooling behavior and striking coloration against a green backdrop.
Gender Differences
Males are more brightly colored and slightly smaller than females. During spawning or when displaying, males show more intense red coloration.
