Golden White Cloud Minnows are a bright colour variety of the White Cloud Mountain Minnow, with warm yellow-gold bodies, reddish fins and a reflective lateral stripe that gives them a lively appearance. Their small size and active swimming style make them especially eye-catching in groups.These minnows are peaceful, social fish that spend much of their time moving through the middle and upper areas of the water. They display their best behaviour in a shoal, with males often intensifying their colours and briefly displaying to one another without causing serious conflict.The species Tanichthys albonubes originates in southern China, where it was associated with cool, clear streams and shallow waters around White Cloud Mountain in Guangdong. Its natural range has also been linked with nearby parts of northern Vietnam, although wild populations have faced pressure from habitat loss and collection.Tanichthys albonubes was first introduced to the aquarium trade in the 1930s and became popular as a hardy, attractive small freshwater fish.
