Diet
Detritivorous. Malaysian Trumpet Snails primarily feed on decaying plant matter, algae, and organic debris. They are excellent scavengers and help maintain the cleanliness of the aquarium substrate.
Community Compatibility
Malaysian Trumpet Snails are generally compatible with peaceful community fish and other invertebrates. They are often kept in aquariums with fish species such as tetras, rasboras, gouramis, and livebearers. They can coexist with other snail species as well.
Good to Know
These can reproduce uncontrollably - very, very easily.
Gender Differences
Malaysian Trumpet Snails are hermaphroditic, meaning they possess both male and female reproductive organs. They can self-fertilize and produce offspring without the need for a mate.
