Diet
Herbivorous. Mystery Snails primarily feed on algae, biofilm, and decaying plant matter. They will also consume leftover fish food, blanched vegetables like zucchini or spinach, and calcium-rich foods like cuttlebone or specialized snail food.
Community Compatibility
Mystery Snails are generally compatible with peaceful community fish and other invertebrates. Avoid keeping them with aggressive fish species that may nip at their antennae or shell. They are known to peacefully coexist with various freshwater fish, such as tetras, rasboras, gouramis, and livebearers.
Gender Differences
Male and female Mystery Snails can be distinguished by their reproductive organs. Males have a visible reproductive organ (pouch) near their neck, while females have a more rounded and wider shell opening.
