Diet
Herbivorous. Nerite Snails primarily feed on algae and biofilm. They are excellent algae eaters and can help control algae growth in the aquarium. If there is not enough natural food available, you can supplement their diet with algae wafers or blanched vegetables like zucchini or spinach.
Community Compatibility
Nerite Snails are generally compatible with peaceful community fish and other invertebrates. They are often kept in aquariums with fish species such as tetras, rasboras, gouramis, and livebearers. They can coexist with other snail species as well.
Gender Differences
It can be challenging to distinguish between male and female Nerite Snails as they have similar appearances. They are capable of reproducing, but their eggs require brackish water conditions to hatch.
