Orange Sakura Shrimp Care Guide

The Orange Sakura Shrimp is a vivid cultivated colour morph of Neocaridina davidi, ranging from translucent amber and golden orange to rich, opaque pumpkin shades. High-grade individuals may display dense colour across the body, while lower-grade shrimp often show a more transparent appearance with orange markings.This small freshwater shrimp has a compact, gently curved body, numerous walking legs and delicate swimming appendages beneath the abdomen. Females are typically broader and more colourful than males, and mature females may show a saddle-shaped cluster of developing eggs behind the head before carrying fertilised eggs beneath the abdomen.Neocaridina davidi is native to freshwater habitats in parts of East Asia, where related populations occur in streams, ponds, ditches and slow-moving waterways. It spends much of its time moving across surfaces and picking at microscopic growth, organic particles and other edible material.Orange Sakura Shrimp are peaceful, active scavengers that constantly explore their surroundings and use their small claws to collect food from surfaces.
