Snow White Bristlenose Pleco Care Guide

The Snow White Bristlenose Pleco is a striking pale colour morph of Ancistrus cirrhosus, with a creamy white to pinkish body and dark eyes that contrast with its unusual appearance. Like other bristlenose catfish, it has a broad, flattened body, an armoured exterior and a sucker-shaped mouth adapted for grazing surfaces.This pleco is primarily nocturnal and spends much of its time attached to wood, rocks, glass or broad leaves. It is generally peaceful toward other community fish, although adults can become territorial with their own kind, particularly around favoured retreats or spawning sites.Ancistrus cirrhosus originates in freshwater habitats of South America, including rivers, streams and tributaries associated with the Paraná and Paraguay drainage regions. These waters may vary from clear, flowing channels to quieter areas rich in submerged wood, leaf litter and algae-covered surfaces.The species is one of the best-known aquarium plecos because it remains considerably smaller than many large suckermouth catfish and has a distinctive appearance.
